Wednesday: Stocks Down, Bonds Down, Oil Down
Price chart analysis and commentary
The S&P 500:
Unable to go higher than Tuesday’s high and closes higher than Tuesday’s low even with the -47% overall loss.
The NASDAQ-100:
The hot tech and social media index is unable to fill the Monday gap down.
The iShares Russell 2000 ETF:
The small caps have yet another day of “can’t get over the 50-day moving average,” which is now turning downward.
The iShares 20+ Year U. S. Treasury Bond ETF:
Bonds go higher early and then finish the day -.15%. Bulls would want to see this make it back over the 50-day moving average sometime soon.
The United States Oil Fund:
The oil fund dips to just below yesterday’s trading range and buyers re-enter.
The SPDR Gold Shares:
A -.37% session as the gold shares take a break before another possible shot at the late October high.
